Salmon Thawing — Water & Chiller Redesign The salmon thaw was degrading product: air agitation was pushing the water bath above its target temperature, and the only control was letting city water overflow continuously. I measured the actual hydraulics and thermal load, then built a phased plan — pre-cooler first, a purpose-built thawer in a later phase — that protects fish quality and cuts millions of gallons of water draw per year.
